Be a Wish List Champion

What do you get for that person on your list who says they don’t need anything? How about some warm clothes, groceries, and a bit of joy! Those gifts mean the world to the people we

support. You can show the special people on your list that are thinking of them by choosing a gift that helps someone else. New this year – your acknowledgement email comes with a printable card to let someone know how you showed you cared.

We launched our Care & Comfort Wish List last year to purchase the typically donated items

that, due to Covid restrictions, we could no longer collect in person. The result was a pandemic silver lining and an amazing success! Donors like you gave generously and loved the convenient process. A few clicks and you were able to make a huge difference! Not only were we able to continue to provide essentials, but we could also do it more efficiently, buying what people needed when they needed it, streamlining storage, and prioritizing the most urgent necessities. It was a win for everyone.

The process is simple:

  • Purchase an item - or two or 10! Multiple donations can be made easily by selecting the quantity you wish to give.

  • We are notified and then use the money to make the purchase.

  • The people we serve in our facilities and throughout the community get what they need!

This holiday season we are asking people to be Wish List Champions by not only giving generously through our Care & Comfort Wish List but also by encouraging others to give as well. Spread the word, put Shelter Nova Scotia on your own gift wish list, or make Care & Comfort giving a new tradition with your friends and family.

Want to do a Care & Comfort Wish List drive at your place of work, business, club, or organization? We can provide you with a "Garland of Giving" package to make it interactive and festive for everyone. People donate for list items, complete the gift tag, then hang to collection of donations to encourage others to give too. For more information and to request a package, email fundraising@shelternovascotia.com
