Asking people for money is not for the faint of heart. It takes courage, care and learning from failures and mistakes. We all only have so much disposable income and are thoughtful before we give it away. A donation is a vote of confidence toward the work that is being done, as far as we are concerned.
We asked again and Margot Spafford said YES, again. Now there is a new kitchen and front stairs at Barry House. Both these building improvements have created further safety and efficiency in our operation for guests and employees alike at the shelter.
Margot makes it easy to ask. Every time she gives, she says, "Please do get in touch if there is anything else I can help with." When I speak with Margot about her generosity, she doesn’t want any attention, she says simply I just give from my heart. How grateful are we that Margot Spafford holds us in her heart? More than she will ever know.
Thank you for lightening the load again, Margot.
