The Good Friend Fund
By committing to a monthly donation, you will become a Good Friend. Friends are important. Friends help us when times are tough. Everyone needs friends, including the men and women we serve.

A donation of $25 per month (82 cents a day) will ensure men and women with so little will have access to bus tickets, shampoo, deodorant, razors, feminine hygiene products, soap and other personal comfort items.

When you become a Good Friend, we will keep you up to date with stories and information about how your gift is making an impact.

To become a Good Friend, email us at goodfriends@shelternovascotia.com or join today by clicking the button below.

Fundraising Campaigns
Providing housing to over 129 men and women every day requires a lot of basic supplies. Imagine the towels we consume or the amount of shampoo we use!

To help keep our supplies fresh, we run campaigns. These campaigns usually run for two or three weeks and are focused on the collection of a very specific item. For example, it could be a towel drive, underwear drive, tampon drive, bus ticket drive or in some cases, a money drive. We welcome your help and would enthusiastically cheer for you if you set up a campaign. If you would like to organize a campaign, send us a note at campaigns@shelternovascotia.com.

Not interested in organizing a campaign but you’d still like to help? Just send us an email at interested@shelternovascotia.com and we’ll make sure you are kept up to on the current campaigns.

New Items Needed
It takes a staggering amount of toiletries, new clothing, new bedding and other goods to keep our facilities safe, comfortable, and effective. To make arrangements for the delivery of the new items you would like to donate, please email us at newitems@shelternovascotia.com

Warm Words
The men and women we serve face big obstacles every day, and every day they face them head on, hoping that today will be better than yesterday. This is where you come in.

Shelter Nova Scotia invites you to make a gift of Warm Words. That’s a gift of supportive words. Words that encourage. Words that say you are not alone. Words that show someone who is climbing enormous obstacles that it’s worth the climb.

It is simple. Just send your Warm Words to warmwords@shelternovascotia.com and we’ll make sure they get to those who are staying with us. If you are inspired to send cards or pictures, that’s okay too. You can send them to: Warm Words, 101 – 5506 Cunard Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3K 1C2.

This does not cost you any money. Your only commitment is to take a moment to jot down some thoughts. That’s it. It’s an opportunity for anyone to extend a helping hand, regardless of financial means.
